About Us

Tung Ann District Guild or TADG has a membership of 1300. It was formed with the early objective of assisting fellow clansmen when they arrived in Singapore. Its objectives have since been expanded to include promoting Chinese traditional culture and cultivating young talents. TADG organizes yearly events like Lunar New Year celebration, hongbaos presentation to the needy elderly, scholarship and busary presentation, Mid-autumn festival and 7-month festival celebration.

We also organise events like international conference for academics, talks on financial management, health, cultural development, classes such as poems writing, dance, karaoke sessions, coffee appreciation and the very nostalgic Hokkien Nite are activities that received overwhelming support. Young members are being invited to dinners to foster mutual understanding and exchanges.

TADG has arranged young members to visit countries like China for root seeking and to meet up with young clan fellows from the rest of the world. To encourage exchanges between our members and fellow clansmen from the region, TADG constantly organizes trips to the various parts of Malaysia and to regional countries, on top of receiving visitors from the region. On 21 May 1994, TADG organised the first meeting for the World's Tong Ann Associations, thereafter, it has been voted as the permanent Secretariat for the Federation for the World’s Tung Ann Associations. On 14 October 2008, TADG successfully organised the first Enlarged Advisory Meeting in preparation for the 7th meeting of the World's Tong Ann Associations.
